Hawthorn blossom, drystone walls, and rapeseed fields on Napes Hill, Stainburn Common

This ancient track is one of many which used to cross the uncultivated Stainburn Moor and link the thriving communities of Stainburn and neighbouring Leathley and Lindley with other villages further north. Now most of the moor is converted to sheep pasture and arable fields, and the tracks are mainly used by walkers.
